Killeen House A charming little hotel with owners and staff well-used to looking after the requirements of visiting golfers. Less than 10 minutes from Killarney and set in 1.5 acres of garden this Edwardian house was originally built in 1838 for Archdeacon Nathaniel Forester. Current proprietors Geraldine and Michael Rosney acquired the house in 1992 and in their own words have since that time invested plenty of blood, sweat, tears and a gullible bank manager's money into upgrading and developing the hotel! Situated only 10 miles from the centre of bustling Dublin and 15 minutes from the international airport. Set in a quiet seaside location between the villages of Portmarnock and Malahide. The original house, still incorporated in the building, was originally owned by the Jameson family of Irish whiskey fame. The hotel's own golf course The Links was designed by Bernhard Langer and the European Tour design team. Although overshadowed by its neighbour, the original Portmarnock course, it offers a good test of links golf especially on the back 9 holes.
